Located in the south-west of France, Aquitaine is a beautiful landscape, and a land rich in history. There are many famous vineyards, but an important attraction of Aquitaine are also sandy beaches washed by the waters of the Atlantic. This Silver Coast, as the locals call it, extends over an area of 250 km and attracts tourists with amazingly beautiful places.

The delicacies of Aquitaine

There is a fast food bar at the Le Vivier Camp. We can eat there a tasty breakfast or drink aromatic coffee. For breakfast, you can order a French specialty - omlette du fromage . It is a traditional omelette with ham, cheese, goat cheese or with salmon, feta and chorizo. A great delicacy of the local cuisine is also salade de chevre chaud , i.e. goat cheese salad. Typical dishes for a French breakfast are fresh croissant and croque madame or croque monsieur - toasts with fried egg or ham.

On the other hand, lovers of meat dishes should be tempted by boeuf bourguignon , i.e. beef burgundy. For such unusual dishes, it is worth ordering a fine wine produced in the area (eg Bergerac, Médoc, Bordeaux, Buzet, Duras).

Journey around Aquitaine

The convenient location of Camping Le Vivier invites you to visit Aquitaine. It's best to start your journey through this region by visiting Bordeaux . This city has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. There are as many as 350 historic buildings, and the entire area of the old town is subject to strict conservation protection. That's where we will see, among others a fountain with a monument (Monument des Girondins) and the beautiful cathedral of St. Andrew with the famous Royal Gate. Bordeaux is the city of bridges. The most beautiful of them is the nineteenth-century stone Pont de Pierre . The 58-meter-high Aquitaine Bridge (Pont d'Aquitaine), which is 1767 meters long, is also very impressive.

Italy, Croatia, Spain ... are the countries I would like to come back to every summer. I like to discover new places, whether it is a bustling capital city or a quiet town on a mountain slope.

Places to visit
The larch routes of Les Orres
Les Orres is a small but very picturesque French ski station. It is located in close proximity to the village of Embrun, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The proximity of Lake Serre-Ponçon and the surrounding larch forests, combined with the gradually increasing number of well-prepared ski slopes, ensure the station's interest in tourists. It is approximately 1,860 km away from Warsaw. By car, this distance can be covered in approximately 20 hours. When planning a vacation in Les Orres , you need to be prepared that it will be difficult to take advantage of all the attractions offered by the resort. There may simply not be enough time for it. 101 km of slopes of all levels of difficulty await skiers - gentle and easy in the lower parts of the mountains (making it an ideal ski resort for beginners) and demanding in the higher ones, including the red Grand Cabane running between forests, almost 6 km long. There are smaller slopes at Les Orres 1800 , ideal for driving lessons. At an altitude of more than 2,000 m above sea level, there are ambitious routes that should not be used by people without experience. It is an area of quite long routes, mostly red, running from the mountain ridge to the station itself. While hiking on Clos Deguis, Bergerie, Boussolenc or Myrtilles, apart from the next sips of adrenaline, you can focus on admiring the valley with its villages and the mirror of Serre-Ponçon Lake. It is better to concentrate on the most difficult route of the resort, the famous L'Horrible ("Terrifying") or the black Pousterle, which is used in organizing international competitions. In addition to the ski runs served by 22 lifts, the station offers an ice rink, a toboggan run and a snow park with a boardercross track, snowmobile riding, paragliding and climbing frozen waterfalls. There are also restaurants and pubs, the resort also has a disco and a cinema.
