A large, shaded area of the Barricata Holiday Village is reserved for camping, framed by the unique landscape of the Po Delta Park. The campgrounds consist of 70-sq. m lots, in the shade of protective cloths, each equipped with 16-amp electrical connection, SAT TV hook-up, and have two blocks of common bathroom facilities with toilets, showers, washtubs, and laundry-ironing rooms. The Barricata campsite has a unique and innovative key feature: tensile semi-shade structures (waterproof) hanging over the pitches, which guarantee a larger amount of shade for the entire pitch and for cars. Tensile structures have been installed to meet the need to provide shade for the campsite pitches, in an environment that by its very nature features sparse vegetation of tall trees. The result has been amazing and much appreciated by campers, and has generally attracted the attention of sector professionals. The construction system of the tensile structures is based on the overall streamlined nature of the system and the compatibility between the structural element in steel and the upper “sail”, tightened at the ends, in reinforced perforated PVC, which is the actual element providing shade for the entire pitch. The sail evokes the sea, boats and sea breezes. Its transparency provides a special feeling of wellbeing, since light enters but in reduced amounts and therefore does not create a sensation of complete shade. The project, which covers an area of 15,000 sq.m, and a total of 120 pitches, was completed in 2014 and has already been in operation for a season. We believe that this initiative, which is truly important in terms of dimensions and layout, opens new horizons for an opportunity to develop innovative solutions for campsites, which are able to meet the expectations of the most discerning guests.
