The Loire Valley is a historic land in the south of France, spanning the middle of the Loire River. As the region has been inhabited since ancient Palaeolithic times, it is known as the Cradle of the French, and due to the numerous vineyards, orchards and fields – the Garden of France. Wines from the Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is a paradise for lovers of wine tourism. It is one of the world's most famous wine-producing areas, with fresh and crisp fruity notes. The most important vineyards in the region are those in Anjou, Saumur, Orleans and Touraine. Among the many grape varieties grown here, the most popular are chenin, cabernet, gamay, sauvignon and pinot noir.

Castles of the Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is famous for its incredible number of beautiful castles – there are over three hundred of them here! Among them, the castles in Amboise, Ussé, Azay-le-Rideau, Villandry, Chambord, Chinon, Montrésor and Chenoncea Castle deserve special attention. The owners of lavish mansions complemented them with magnificent gardens designed by the best landscape architects – another reason why the Loire Valley is called the Garden of France.
