Łódź Voivodeship folklore

The Łódź Voivodeship is a province that is surprisingly diverse in terms of culture and folklore. Within its territory there are lands of separate identity: Łęczycka, Rawa and Sieradz. This influences the richness of customs, costumes and cuisines stemming from the traditions rooted there.

Łódź not only industrial

A holiday in Łódź should necessarily include a visit to the capital of the region – Łódź. At the end of the 19th century, it was one of the most dynamically developing cities in the world, thanks to the large textile factories operating here. The then atmosphere of the city was masterfully conveyed by the Nobel Prize winner in the field of literature, Władysław Reymont, in his famous work "The Promised Land". In Łódź, you can admire many monuments, such as located at Piotrkowska Street, the classicist White Geyer Factory (today it houses the Central Museum of Textiles), the neo-Gothic cathedral basilica or the eclectic Juliusz Heinzl palace, which houses the municipal office. Apart from Łódź, other important tourist and cultural centers of the region are Sieradz and Piotrków Trybunalski. Thirsty for contact with nature, there are seven landscape parks at their disposal: Załęczański, Przedborski, Sulejowski, Spalski, Międzyrzecza Warty and Widawki, Wzniesienia Łódzkie and Bolimowski – each different, each unique!
