Tourism in Świętokrzyskie Mountains

The Świętokrzyskie Mountains have been a popular tourist destination for centuries. Already in the fourteenth century, pilgrims from all over the country visited Łysa Góra, which is a pilgrimage center because of the relics of the Holy Cross Tree stored here. In 1910, the first tourist shelter in the entire Kingdom of Poland was opened in Święta Katarzyna, and in 1921 the first reserve was established on Chełmowa Góra.
