Not everything that has been designed as disposable, has to be disposable. Coca-Cola is carrying out a campaign, to make us realize that plastic bottles can be used for many different purposes. Maybe it’s worth to think about it also in the context of camping?
The action invented by the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather is carried out in Vietnam and Thailand. The manufacturer of the popular drink, however, plans to extend the campaign to the entire Asia. As a part of the project under the banner of Coca-Cola 2ndLives they plan to distribute 40,000 special caps that allow you to turn a used bottle into the items that could be used again.
In total, 16 caps were designed and they allow you to use the old bottles as dumbbells, water guns, plant sprinklers, kits for soap bubbles, and even pencil sharpeners.
Thanks to such additions, beverage bottles are easier to be used again. In this way Coca-Cola encourages to think, whether a particular object can be used in a new way. Not necessarily with additional gadgets.
For example, you can pour a juice or tea into the old bottle, or you can use it to store salt or sugar. And if you are afraid to store food in "disposable" packs, you can keep other things there, especially those with liquid or loose consistency.
Approaching the matter in this way, we will certainly figure out how to use such packaging on the campsite. Share with us your opinion about how to use bottles, cans or other "disposable" items? We look forward to hear your ideas!
