Carrera from Autocruise

Autocruise is one of many brands owned by British group Swift. In the company, Autocruise is responsible only for adapting vans for camping needs. But a real novelty is a new variant of the equipment - Carrera 4.

Autocruise motorhomes are based on Peugeot Boxer or - optionally - on Fiat Ducato. Basic versions cost in the UK from less than 41,000 pounds to over 51,000 pounds.

There are 7 models of Autocruise available. You can choose among variants that can sleep two, three or four people. Two shorter models - Rhythm Compact and Jazz - measure 5,41 m. Rytm, Accent and Alto measure 6 meters. Permissible gross weight of shorter versions is 3,300 kg, while of longer - 3,500 kg.

Name as in Porsche

The fact that every vehicle looks interesting is due to graphics, which make the car body look more dynamic. Particular attention to details, both from outside and inside of the vehicle, can be seen in the newest, best equipped version - Carrera 4

Here, a standard are black, 16-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, roof rack with ladder and awning in the cassette mounted along the side of the roof line. There’s also a solar panel with a power of 40 W.

Inside, sporty look has been achieved thanks to the black seats with orange elements and original pressings. Cabinets are white, illuminated from the top. Chrome finish elements give the impression of subtle luxury.

We’ll feel even more comfortable thanks to the 22-inch TV with DVD and CD radio with USB and with access to the MP3 player or iPod.

Van with a bathroom

Each of the Autocruise vehicles meets the standard described as a third degree of thermal insulation, which means that it can be successfully used also in winter conditions. To make this possible, in all models were used new, double glazed windows.

There’s also a skylight that can be completely covered. Even though there isn’t too much space in the van, a bathroom with toilette and shower is a standard. In some versions sink can be folded, while in some it’s fixed.

There’s obviously hot water in the car. The manufacturer used heating system Truma Combi 4, and warm air is distributed also by blowing. In the kitchen you’ll find not only 2- or 3-burner gas stove, but in some versions even an oven with grill. For an additional charge we can opt for a microwave (in version Carrera 4 it’s in standard).

Versions Rhythm Compact, Accent , Forte and Carrera 4 have an 80-liter fridge Dometic, while the other models - 72-liter fridge-freezer Waeco. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are a standard here.

In Jazz, Forte and Rhythm Compact - water container has a capacity of 66 liters, while in other versions - 100 liters. A waste-water container has, respectively, 40 or 66 liters capacity. In each motorhome, you will find at least three sockets 230 V.

One more thing...

Autocruise won’t provide as much space as a full size motorhome, but the manufacturer took care of a quite original access to the cab. In some versions we can get to sofas and bed not only from the inside of the vehicle, but also by opening the double rear doors. In turn, opening the sliding door gives an access to the kitchen countertop, which may - unfortunately – partially block the passage.

But maybe it was just to allow cooking from the outside? It would be quite a genuine solution as well, but who knows what hides in the minds of British designers...
