Caravanning becomes more and more powerful in Poland. The best evidence of it is this year's Caravanning Exhibition in Poznan. Below we present just a few selected brands - those that attracted us and surprised us the most.
Motorhomes, caravans, caravanning equipment and even toys (eg. models of motorhomes and caravans) - all of this can be seen in Poznan from 27th to 30th of March. Camprest.com representatives appeared on the majority of expositions and spoke with the owners and representatives of companies about their current offer, experiences and plans for the future.
Markus Kushmann decided to make the use his knowledge of the Polish language and geographical proximity between Germany and Poland. That’s why during the fairs in Poznan he decided to prepare the exhibition for Gante company, which is the distributor of camping vehicles from brands such as PLU, Miller or Giottline.
Gante doesn’t have its representatives in Poland. Moreover – without taking into account the local dealers with which it works – it runs sales primarily at one point, at its headquarters in Kassel. But according to Kuschmann, the lack of extensive structure is an advantage that translates into lower costs and as a result - low prices for the customer. Thanks to that, the company can offer good quality motorhomes at prices more favorable than the competition’s.
Gante hopes that this is what will convince Poles. Earlier, Polish customers showed interest in the offer presented at the fairs in Germany. So now Germans alone decided to come to Poland and hope that they will be successful on this small, but developing market.
The oldest company manufacturing caravans in Poland was taken over by the company mainly engaged in the sale and production of goods trailers. A group of employees from Niewiadow wanted to use that fact, and decided to take the law into their own hands. Former employees of Niewiadow created a brand Romer, and presented two caravans and one motorhome in Poznan.
The president of the company, Leszek Reszka, in an interview with Camprest.com argued that vehicles from Romer have a much more modern design than the previous caravans from Niewiadow. In this case the experience of employees was combined with new technology. What Romer boasts of, is the sandwich-type bodywork. Here, we won’t find any elements of plywood or wood, because the manufacturer used a lot stronger and more watertight material - styrodur XPS.
Currently, the company develops its dealer network, and its products attract not only Poles, but also customers from Scandinavia.
This company took probably the largest area at this year's Caravanning Exhibition, exposing the models of brands Knaus, McLouis or Weinsberg. This was possible because the company, that has barely 3 months, has as much as 150 new vehicles on stock. In Poland it’s a phenomenon, because most companies importing motorhomes and caravans for specific clients have at most a few, sometimes a dozen vehicles in Poland.
At Caravan- Center A&R you can also place an individual order, if if you won’t find the suitable caravan or motorhome. It that case, you have to wait from 4 to 6 weeks for your dream vehicle.
As it was stated in an interview with Mariusz Odrowąż, the company 's activity is based on a close cooperation with two partners from Germany. Thanks to them it was possible to compose a wide and attractive offer for the Polish market.
The biggest sensation at the A&R exhibition, and perhaps even at the whole Caravanning Exhibition, was a luxurious caravan Tabbert Puccini Grande. The high quality finishing could be recognized at first glance. The beauty of wood and leather was highlighted by subtle LED lighting. To have exactly this caravan, as this displayed at the fairs, you have to spend 46,410 EUR.
Brand Camel Camp has been on the market since 2006, and unlike most of its competitors, it focuses on selling motorhomes not from Germany, but from Italy and France. Its offer includes vehicles from McLouis, Caravan International and PLA.
The system of the company’s functioning is closely linked to the seasonality of the caravanning industry. To make the most of the possibilities, new motorhomes from Camel Camp are imported before the season. Those that won’t be sold, are rented for the season, but once the season ends they go on sale again, this time as used vehicles (at a price of approximately 31,200-38,600 EUR).
On the Caravanning Exhibition also appeared many other brands that deal with the distribution of new and used camping vehicles, as well as their rental and service.
On a big exposition from CarGo!, which was modeled on car brands expositions, guests were greeted by hostesses. The company presented a large number of motorhomes and caravans, with a particular emphasis on brand Bavaria. For CarGo! these fairs were also an opportunity to attract new partners, because the company is looking for new dealers.
S-Camp had a pretty huge exposition as well, on which it presented, among others, motorhomes from Concorde and LMC. The company claims that as the only one in Poland it has a real showroom, with an attractive exposition of offered vehicles. S -Camp also deals with guarantee and after guarantee service of motorhomes of different brands.
Caravans-Mika, Wadowscy, Polcamp - are another brands that prove that dealing with caravanning in Poland has a future. Besides, at the fairs were also companies presenting touristic and camping gear as well as motorhome’s equipment. It has to be admitted that this year's Caravanning Exhibition allowed us to get acquaint with extremely wide offer of vehicles and equipment .
