We already presented campers that beat touring buses in their size, but what about such huge caravans? Holiday Rambler has in offer a caravan with a length of 12 meters, height of 4 meters, and width of 2,60 meters. Holiday Rambler is an American manufacturer that produces luxury caravans since 1953. Those, from the line Presidential refer to the times, when Holiday Rambler set (or rather went beyond) the standards on the market of luxurious camping vehicles. The new project was discussed with the owners of caravans of the same name, produced in the 80’s and 90’s. Representatives of the producer asked five of them, what they’d expect from the new version. Their suggestions were used during the construction of a brand new caravan.
Modern from the outside, classical inside
Designers wanted the caravan to look modern, so they took care of its aerodynamic shape and nicely rounded front. Gray-blue color looks interesting, and attention is attracted by a large number of external compartments. It’s worth mentioning that side walls were covered with an additional layer of foam insulation to protect the caravan more effectively from cold temperatures and loud noises.
The interior totally doesn’t fit the modern body line. It’s luxurious in every detail and meets the most typical image of the comfort. Those, who like heavy furniture, leather chairs and dark interior decor, will be very happy. It’s a perfect place to settle down with a cigar and a glass of whiskey.
President with his own island
What distinguishes Presidential caravans is a kitchen island, which is available in every variant of the interior. Such solution is extremely rare, even in the largest camping vehicles. Double shower with a 1,5 meter long shower tray may be as much surprising, the more that in Poland such length is typical rather for a tub. Because both walls of the caravan draw aside, the space inside is really impressive.
Presidential 2014 is available in four variants, each of which was named after American president: we have Adams, Jefferson, Washington and Madison. Nonetheless, particular caravans have much more in common with each other, than the presidents had.
A fireplace in the standard
Each Presidential has a fresh water tank with a capacity of 100 gallons, that is 378 liters. Grey water tank has the same capacity. Unfortunately, the container for the worst sewage is a half time smaller. Each caravan can accommodate 4 persons. The equipment includes, among other things, air conditioning, fireplace, two-compartment sink, two-door refrigerator, capacious microwave, 32-inch TV and a DVD player with surround sound system. Very impressive are furniture and table tops made of solid maple wood. Toilet in the bathroom is, of course, ceramic, while shower doors are made of glass.
For an extra charge the caravan can be retrofitted with a reversing camera, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and with an additional bedroom heating.
Such monster cannot be attached to a small passenger car. To pull the vehicle with a gross weight of 8.5 tonnes, you will need at least a pickup. The prices at which you can purchase Presidential oscillate around 79 – 125 thousands dollars, of course in America.
