Approximately 15 km from Łysa Polana, in a very picturesque scenery there’s a Slovak ski resort, Bachledova Dolina. It’s a great place for a family vacations in mountains and learn to ski.
Near the Polish-Slovak border we’ll find many resorts perfect for families with children as well as for people, who make their first steps on skis. In a picturesque region, located between Magura Spiska and Bielskie Tatras, there’s SKI Bachledova Dolina, a ski resort really enjoyed among the amateurs of winter sports. The popularity of the resort is influenced by several factors, including a high capacity of the lifts, the accessibility and exquisite skiing conditions. When we add to this the beauty of the area, impressive tourist infrastructure and delicious local cuisine, we’ll get a ready recipe for a dreamy holidays in mountains.
In the immediate vicinity of the resort there’s a second resort, Jezersko. It’s slopes are easily accessible, because they are connected with the slopes of Bachledova Valley via lift system. Both stations are especially recommended to people, who don’t feel too confident on skis. They can practice on the local slopes to their heart’s content, and no one will throw disrespectful glances at them.
SKI Bachledova Valley
The main advantage of Bachledova Valley is a large number of easy and pleasant routes, as well as a long-lasting snow on the slopes. Not to mention the wonderful views, appreciated not only by skiers. Bielskie Tatras looming on the horizon, will put everyone in a dreamy mood. You can ride the slopes both during the day and night – they are perfectly lit.
Apart from the routes for skiers there’s also a new toboggan run, the beginning of which is located on the snow-rafting route. The resort has a ski school for children, and snow-rafting fans can test their abilities on a new route, created in the immediate vicinity of the ski slope Hrebeň. The resort also offers several trails for cross-country skiers (Valley, Jazero and Hrebeň ) .

The total length of all routes is over 11 km, most of which (7.74 km) are the easy, blue routes. There’s only 1,77 km of red routes, and 1,56 km of black. The slopes are supported by 10 lifts (8 t-bars and 2 chairlifts) . Their total capacity is 8110 persons per hour.
You can enjoy the slopes of Bachledova Valley and neighboring Jezierska after purchasing one ski pass. For a 1-day pass for an adult you will pay 25 euro, while for children and seniors - 20 euro. If you want to ride on the slopes for a week you have to pay, respectively, 121 and 93 euro.
After taking off our skis, it is a time for other pleasures. Guests to Bachledova Valley have wide selection of leisure activities, starting with a nice evening in the intimate restaurant, and ending with the exploration of the local attractions and historical sites. One of the most famous is the open-air museum of regional building with the ethnographic exhibition, thanks to which you have a chance to see how the interior of the local wooden huts in the nineteenth century looked like. The nearby caves, including Ice, Bielska and the Cave of Liberty are a pretty huge attraction too.
Bachledova Valley offers guests a variety of attractions, tempting not only skiers. You can ride a snowmobile or participate in a ski racing. The resort enjoys a huge popularity also in the summer, when tourists traverse kilometers of lovely paths, go climbing or try the so-called downhill in a Bike Park. Here you can also play paintball, try bungee jumping, sweat on the tennis courts or in the rope park. So, no matter what time of the year, you definitely won’t get bored in this pleasant resort.
