Bora Bora

Black pearl of the Pacific - Bora Bora

There are places that most people won’t probably ever see, because they’re very distant, and besides, the prices may be shocking for an average tourist. Unfortunately, Bora Bora belongs to such places, but that doesn’t mean that you cannot dream about it.

One of the most beautiful islands in the world is located north-west of Tahiti. Its surface covers 22 km², and tourists get here by ferry, because the airport is too small for large aircraft. For years, it has been a leader in various rankings regarding heavenly places and the wonders of nature. Anyone who sees it will understand why after the end of World War II, American soldiers staying there, didn’t want to go home. Bora Bora is also known as "Mai te pora," which means "created by the gods."

Say "I do" in paradise

Bora Bora is located on the Pacific Ocean, and is a part of French Polynesia. In the past, it was inhabited by Polynesians, who left only some reliefs and ruins of temples. Later, it was USA’s sea and land base, and today constitutes an important tourist resort. Unfortunately, holidays in Bora Bora are quite expensive - a week's stay for one person oscillates around 2500 EUR.

On the other hand, we must honestly admit that the island aims strongly at wealthy people. Those are the exclusive group, who spend their holidays in Tahitian houses covered with reeds standing on stilts in the water. From the outside, they may seem primitive, but inside they contain all the luxuries. They have glass floors which enables people to see sea creatures, and even feeding them through special openings. Each house has its own deck, from which you can quickly get to the crystal clear water.

Guests, who didn’t make it for breakfast, or prefer to eat it in their house, they can count on food delivery - many hotels of Polynesian islands offer the so-called Canoe Breakfast, which is a meal served from boats decorated with flowers.

On Bora Bora, you can find more and more luxury hotels. It also has a lot of exclusive boutiques and gourmet restaurants. It attract many stars, celebrities and wealthy people, including those, who want to get married. Lovers can say “I do” in a chapel suspended over the water, which will provide an amazing atmosphere.

The island of black pearls

The island considered by many a true paradise on earth is known not only for its beauty, but also for the fact that black pearls are cultured there. Besides, it’s famous for its sea water, classified as the cleanest in the world. Many hotels use its curative properties in their SPA, offering visitors, for example, a thalassotherapy.

Bora Bora is perfect for relaxation, not only at the beach. People, who are passionate about water sports such as scuba diving, kite surfing, windsurfing, and water skiing, will be especially delighted. Beautiful lagoon will appeal to sailing adherents, as well as to lovers of marine fauna. A nice attraction is Coral Garden - a natural underwater park. Shallow waters around the island are full of stingrays, sea turtles, parrotfish, giant manta rays and reef sharks, arriving in shoals during feeding time. Tourists can observe them in masks for snorkeling, but only after being secured with the rope.

Holidays in Paradise

What else can you do in paradise? Horseback riding, arrange a picnic on the water, go on a cruise, rent a boat or catamaran. You can also feed your eyes with an amazing view of colorful archipelagos, admire a volcano, and take a stroll to the pineapple plantation.

The first day of your stay will be the day of rest - you need to turn back the clock up to 12 hours with respect to the Polish time (we’ll arrive "yesterday"). But once you gain strengths, you can begin to enjoy the divine views, water transparency reaching 50 meters, the richness of marine life, excellent cuisine and lovely people. It would take a long time to enumerate all the advantages of Mai te pora. Without a doubt, we’ll spend the best time of our lives.
