A sea of flowers in summer, fluffy snow in winter and alpine views - this is the Alpbachtal, a valley where time stands still. We find here the Thinkers' Village, the Congress Center, freeride areas and kilometers of routes.

Perfect snow conditions, a network of modern lifts and an extensive tourist infrastructure - these are the advantages of practically every ski resort located in the Austrian Alps. Although some of them are similar to each other like twin sisters, it does not mean that they have nothing to tempt tourists with. On the contrary. A great example is the Alpbachtal ski area , where Alpbach shines like a pearl, a charming village situated on a rocky ledge above the valley.

In the 2008/2009 season, ADAC Skiguide awarded the ministry 1st place in the "Klein & Fein" category. The prize is well deserved - the conditions for practicing winter sports will satisfy every visitor. The ski season lasts until the end of April, the snow is fluffy and the landscapes are captivating. From the highest station of the resort (we take the Hornlift 2000 lift), you can see the neighboring peaks and mountain ranges: the Zillertal, Rofan and of course the Alpbachtal.

The Thinkers' Village - Alpbach

Alpbach prides itself on its traditions, culture and architecture, as well as an abundance of beautiful flowers that can be admired in the warm months. We can find here typical, eye-catching alpine buildings, in which - as if by contrast - a modern Congress Center is located. For years, large-scale entrepreneurs have been coming here for annual conferences and taking part in the "European Alpbach Forum". The visits of famous personalities from the world of economy, politics and culture became the reason why the town was called the "Village of Thinkers" .

On the other hand, the valley itself tempts with slopes of various difficulty levels. In addition to downhill runs, it offers a slope where you can indulge in freeride madness. Cross-country skiers and ordinary "mountain rovers" will be happy, as they traverse the kilometers of snow at their own pace.

Alpbachtal is a great place for skiers who feel confident on two boards. There are little more routes for intermediate skiers (25%) than for lovers of challenges (14%). Advanced amateurs of skiing have 61% of all descents for themselves, so they will not complain about boredom for sure.

To be able to go on the slopes, we must obtain the appropriate ski pass. Please note that some ski resorts indicate the price of the 6-day pass in the "Weekly pass" field. Adult skiers and seniors will pay € 205.00 for it, while a child ski pass costs € 102.50. The price of a 1-day pass for adults (and seniors) is € 41.00, and for children - € 20.50.

The charms of the Alpbach Valley

You can fall in love with the local landscapes. No wonder that the vast majority of tourists want to spend at least a few days in the valley. Motorhome owners will be very pleased - there are several year-round campsites with a wide offer. One of them is Camping Seeblick Toni in Kramsach, where an adult's accommodation costs from € 6 to € 10.5, depending on the season. Its greatest advantage is its location: on one side there is a lake and on the other side a forest. There is a mini market, cafe and restaurant, solarium, swimming pool, Finnish sauna ... long to mention. After all, it's a 5-star camping.

There are tons of fantastic places to ski in the Tyrolean valleys. We will find much more in Alpbachtal and we will definitely come back here more than once.
